Abstract(s)
The main objective of the present study was to understand the relationship between self-esteem and emotional regulation and the impact they have on the development of depressive disorders in adults. To this end, a systematic review of the literature was carried out based on the PRISMA model, in order to base more rigorously the different phases of the review, reducing the risk of bias in the results. The search for scientific articles was carried out in the Scopus and PubMed databases, based on previously defined inclusion criteria. In the end, 13 scientific articles published in scientific journals between 2019 and 2024 were included. After analyzing the included articles, it was possible to conclude that different cognitive emotional regulation strategies, as well as different levels of self-esteem, may have an influential role in the severity of depressive symptomatology, despite inconsistencies being observed regarding the role of different variables and the impact they have.
