Abstract(s)
aproximadamente 1800 kWh/m2 ano.
For the implementation of the isolated photovoltaic system (PV) in the province of Moxico – municipality of Cazombo, the solar energy resources of the site were evaluated and, considering that it is a location far from the capital of the province, the isolated PV installation was designed, taking advantage of the solar radiation from the horizontal surface, which in this province is approximately 1800 kWh/m2 year. Rural electrification allows actions to be quantified and rethought in order to reinforce the sustainable nature of the system and the very inclusive characteristic that energy can assume in relation to other aspects, like improving the quality of life of the population. The objective of this study is the design of an isolated photovoltaic system/installation for the municipality of Cazombo. In order to achieve this objective, it was necessary to collect and analyze temperature and irradiance data of the location under study, since PV systems performance depends on the temperature and intensity of the radiation incident on the PV panels. These data were presented in extreme and quartile graphs, in which it is possible to observe the variation of temperature and irradiance for each hour. For the design of an isolated system, it is essential to know the load profile of the area covered by the installation, so that from the load profile the remaining elements of the installation can be determined, such as: number of panels to be installed, capacity of the battery bank, number of charge regulators, maximum inverter power (when using AC loads) and, if possible, the conductor sections for the PV installation circuits. After determining all the elements of the installation, it is necessary to perform a simulation task, by using algorithms working in SOFTWARE MATLAB platform, specifically for the mathematical modeling of battery and photovoltaic system models. The installation simulation analyzes, for each season, represented by January and July months, and for each week, allows the calculation of the PV installation cost, which is considered to be a profitable investment for the national electricity distribution company in Angola, due to the great distance that the location of the isolated PV installation is from the public grid.
