Abstract(s)
A disciplina de Estratégia tem, ao longo do tempo, realizado estudos empíricos e teóricos com base na Teoria Baseada nos Recursos (Resource Base View – RBV). Esta teoria demonstra a extrema importância da combinação dos recursos/capacidades em posse pela empresa, contextualizada num mercado competitivo e realçando como sendo um fator fundamental para uma organização/empresa posicionar-se de forma competitiva.
Embora a teoria RBV tenha vindo a evidenciar uma importância acentuada na literatura sob o ponto de vista conceitual, a existência de estudos quantitativos é ainda escassa. Assim sendo é importante compreender como a combinação de recursos/capacidades associados ao modelo VRIO (valor, raridade, imitabilidade e organização) contribuem, ou não, para o desenvolvimento de uma vantagem competitiva, refletindo-se no desenvolvimento da performance da própria organização/empresa.
Os resultados deste estudo sugerem que as variáveis valor, raridade e imitabilidade estão relacionados com a vantagem competitiva, assim sendo são considerados como fortes características para o desenvolvimento do desempenho da empresa. Embora estas variáveis sejam importantes para o desenvolvimento da vantagem competitiva, só a variável valor têm um impacto direto com a variável desempenho. É demonstrado neste estudo que a vantagem competitiva encontra-se diretamente relacionada com o desenvolvimento do desempenho, sendo um fator fundamental para o seu desenvolvimento sustentável.
Discipline Strategy has, over time, conducted empirical and theoretical studies based on theory Based on Resources (Resource Base View - RBV). This theory demonstrates the extreme importance of the combination of resources/capabilities possessed by the company, contextualized in a competitive market and highlighting as a major factor in an organization/company position itself competitively. Although RBV theory has been showing a marked importance in the literature under the conceptual point of view, the existence of quantitative studies is still scarce. So it's important to understand how the combination of features / capabilities associated with VRIO model (value, rarity, inimitability and organization) contribute or not to develop a competitive advantage, reflected in the development of the own organization / company performance. The results of this study suggest that the variables value, rarity and imitability are related to competitive advantage, thus are considered strong features for the development of the company's performance. Although these variables are important for the development of competitive advantage, only the variable value have a direct impact on the variable performance. It is demonstrated in this study that competitive advantage is directly related to the development of performance and is a key factor for sustainable development.
