Abstract(s)
Nowadays, we are facing an increasingly globalized society, marked by development, which highlights the importance of a reflection on Social Entrepreneurship, which has come to assume importance in the face of the growing number of initiatives. In recent years, Social Entrepreneurship is a phenomenon that has been attracting growing attention from academics, professionals and politicians from different areas. Portugal is facing the most critical economic and social situation in its recent history, given the current Covid-19 pandemic, anticipated in the financial crisis experienced in recent years. This economic crisis is worsening the situation of more and more people, which leads entities that work in the social area to pay special attention to those who are economically and socially disadvantaged. Entities, better known as NGOs (Non-Governmental Organizations), such as associations, cannot work miracles, as they also face daily problems, awakening to the risk of social and financial sustainability, and consequently, reaching their projects/initiatives. One of the ways used to overcome these difficulties is competing for tenders and applications for financing projects, whether local, national, European or even global, as they do not have self-sufficient financial capacity to guarantee the sustainability of the project/initiative by their own means. This is the purpose that sets the tone for this investigation, it is intended to identify, analyze and understand the role of Social Entrepreneurship in the sustainability of the EcoGerminar Association, identifying its influence on the sustainability of the association, as I believe there is a need to promote visibility of Social Entrepreneurship in the reality of an association such as EcoGerminar.
