| dc.description.abstract | Esta dissertação pretende dar um contributo para o debate entre os conceitos de Arte e Design, e se possível, esclarecer as relações entre os mesmos através do percurso histórico do Design, como também pretende apresentar relações históricas e contemporâneas, considerando períodos, acontecimentos e movimentos significativos. A investigação que é proposta tem como objetivos questionar e analisar a dimensão artística do Design e compreender os motivos que levam os investigadores a persistirem no debate sobre esta dialética Arte-Design. Além de saber até que ponto estas vertentes se avizinham, se são distantes e o porquê de se confundirem, distinguir o contexto em que estão inseridos e os limites que dessa interrogação. Ao refletir sobre a prática de projeto como definição disciplinar do Design, considera-se a relevância do esclarecimento ontológico desta disciplina, através do esmiuçar da definição de “Design”, situando-a no contexto histórico, que julgo poder contribuir para tal esclarecimento. Ao refletir sobre a prática de projeto considero primordial o entendimento e esclarecimento do(s) conceito(s) de Design e as perspetivas que, ao longo do tempo, diversas personalidades e escolas foram dando para a compreensão ontológica da disciplina, A dissertação divide-se em dois planos que se complementam: a primeira uma análise critica do enquadramento histórico do Design e dos contributos acima referidos e a segunda centrada no debate que dá título à dissertação, com o objetivo de estimular o pensamento crítico, através da formulação de questões sobre os limites, fronteiras e convergências entre o Design e a Arte. | por |
| dc.description.abstract | This dissertation intends to contribute to the debate between the concepts of Art and Design, and if possible, to clarify the relationships between them through the historical path of Design, as well as to present historical and contemporary relationships, considering significant periods, events and movements. The research that is proposed aims to question and clarify the artistic dimension of Design and understand the reasons that lead researchers to persist in the debate on this Art-Design dialectic. In addition to knowing to what extent these aspects are close, if they are distant and why they are confused, distinguishing the context in which they are inserted and the limits that this question originates. When reflecting on the practice of design as a disciplinary definition of Design, an ontological clarification of this discipline is considered urgent, through the scrutiny of the definition of “Design”, placing it in the historical context, which I believe can contribute to such clarification. When reflecting on the practice of design, I consider it essential to understand and clarify the concept(s) of Design and the perspectives that, over time, different personalities and schools have been giving to the ontological understanding of the discipline, The dissertation is divided into two complementary planes: the first a critical analysis of the historical framework of Design and the aforementioned contributions and the second focused on the debate that gives the thesis its title, with the aim of stimulating critical thinking, through the formulation of questions about the limits, borders and convergences between Design and Art. | eng |
