Abstract(s)
Além do
This report describes the work developed by the student Juliana Santos during the internship at Béhen, in order to obtain the master's degree in Fashion Design. The main objective of the report is to investigate the relationship between handicraft, sustainable practices and fashion design, complementing with the registration of the work done at Béhen. For this purpose, the research focused on typical portuguese embroidery, which are important elements for the brand. Béhen is based in Lisbon and is dedicated to the production of garments for women, men and children. The main objective of the brand is to preserve portuguese artisanal techniques, focusing on traditional embroidery, as well as to promote a fair and sustainable production. This report presents in detail the process of creating the collection "The God of Small Things" for the Autumn/Winter 2023 season. In addition to the main project, others developed in parallel during the internship period are presented. The practical aspect of this work is based on the research and analysis of concepts integrated in the theme "Handicraft as a stimulator of sustainable practices in fashion design: Typical Portuguese embroidery", using scientific academic studies. In this way, this internship report aims to contribute to the development of technicalpractical knowledge on the preservation and application of handmade embroidery in fashion design, contributing to the sustainability of the industry.
