Abstract(s)
O planeta Terra enfrenta, atualmente, as consequências de décadas de excessos,
demonstrada pelos padrões exagerados de produção e consumo, o que está a criar
instabilidade económica, ambiental e social. A indústria da moda e dos têxteis é uma das
maiores potências económicas mundiais, mas também uma das mais poluentes e
insustentáveis. Este trabalho procura abordar a Economia Circular e as práticas da
Sharing Economy, de modo a encontrar soluções para as necessidades atuais.
A metodologia usada baseia-se no estudo do funcionamento da Economia Circular e da
Indústria Têxtil e do Vestuário e, na análise de casos práticos da Sharing Economy.
A investigação resulta na proposta de um centro de desenvolvimento, o “Covil da Lã -
Sharing Economy Center”, aproveitando o potencial histórico e o contexto económico,
geográfico e académico da cidade. Assim, o Covil da Lã terá como objetivo principal criar
valor social, ambiental e económico localmente, com a integração de práticas
colaborativas da Sharing Economy na região, para dinamizar o desenvolvimento da
Indústria Têxtil e do Vestuário, e o reconhecimento da Beira Interior como uma
referência no sector, enquanto mantém vivas as memórias da cidade-fábrica e a tradição
dos lanifícios na Covilhã.
The planet Earth currently faces the consequences of decades of excess, demonstrated by the exaggerated patterns of production and consumption, which is creating economic, environmental and social instability. The fashion and textile industry is one of the largest economic powers in the world, but also one of the most polluting and unsustainable. This work seeks to address Circular Economy and Sharing Economy practices, in order to find solutions for current needs. The methodology used is based on the study of the functioning of the Circular Economy and the Textile and Clothing Industry and on the analysis of practical cases of the Sharing Economy. The investigation results in the proposal of a development center, "Covil da Lã - Sharing Economy Center", taking advantage of the historical potential and the economic, geographical and academic context of the city. Thus, Covil da Lã will have as main objective to create social, environmental and economic value locally, with the integration of collaborative Sharing Economy practices in the region, to boost the development of the Textile and Clothing Industry, and the recognition of Beira Interior as a reference in the sector, while keeping the memories of the factory city and the wool tradition in Covilhã alive.
