Abstract(s)
Introdução: A Hipertensão Arterial é a doença cardiovascular mais comum
pressure”, “high blood pressure”, “patient satisfaction” e “effectiveness”,
No segundo
No
nomeadamente a teleconsulta.
Introduction: Hypertension is the most common cardiovascular disease worldwide. It is the main risk factor for cardiovascular complications such as hemorrhagic or ischaemic stroke, acute myocardial infarction, heart failure and also chronic kidney disease and degenerative diseases, such as vascular dementia and Alzheimer's disease. Hypertension is the main causes of early morbidity, mortality and disability. Hypertension is a modifiable risk factor through its control with the regular measurement of blood pressure values, with the adoption of lifestyle measures and adherence to pharmacological therapies, and it is proven that it is possible to treat this condition effectively. The advance in technology has provided a growing availability of applied interventions in health. Currently, telemedicine is increasingly used in the management of chronic diseases, particularly in hypertension. Teleconsultation is a form of distance consultations that has improved the quality of health care, its accessibility and the control of hypertension. Objective: The objective of this work is to review the literature on telemedicine applied to the management of arterial hypertension, with emphasis on teleconsultation in order to improve its quality. Materials and Methods: This dissertation constitutes a systematic review of the literature. For its elaboration, a scientific literature search was carried out in the PubMed, ScienceDirect and GoogleScholar databases. The search was limited to free full articles. The research terms used were: "telemedicine", "teleconsultation", "hypertension", "blood pressure", "high blood pressure", "patient satisfaction" and "effectiveness", miscegenating the terms in various combinations. From the results of the various studies, the articles were selected by title and, later, by abstract. Development: This work was divided into four chapters. The first chapter is the Introduction with a brief framework of the topic. In the second chapter - Hypertension - hypertension is defined and classified, its epidemiology is addressed and the importance of controlling hypertension is highlighted. Chapter three – Telemedicine – addresses what telemedicine and related concepts are, the impact that the Covid-19 pandemic had on the development of telemedicine and the benefits and limitations it presents. In the fourth chapter – Telemedicine in the management of hypertension – it is intended to highlight the use of telemedicine in the management of hypertension, namely teleconsultation. Conclusion: Due to the high prevalence and importance of hypertension, it becomes a relevant target for telemedicine. There are improvements in blood pressure levels, increased involvement, knowledge and control of the disease by patients, as well as high levels of satisfaction in the use of teleconsultation. However, more studies are needed to create stronger evidence on the subject.
