| dc.description.abstract | O estágio final, inserido no Plano de Estudos do Mestrado Integrado em Ciências Farmacêuticas, surge como um elo de ligação essencial entre a formação técnico científica adquirida durante os 5 anos de curso e a prática profissional, proporcionando ao estudante o confronto com a profissão farmacêutica. Este relatório de estágio é constituído por duas partes. O primeiro capítulo engloba o trabalho de investigação realizado, enquanto o segundo capítulo descreve o estágio realizado em Farmácia Comunitária tendo por base as Boas Práticas Farmacêuticas para a Farmácia Comunitária. O projeto de dissertação de mestrado tem como objetivo estudar a perda de peso com o uso de incretinomiméticos. Os incretinomiméticos são uma nova classe de agentes farmacológicos com múltiplas ações anti hiperglicémicas que mimetizam os efeitos das hormonas incretinas endógenas. As hormonas incretinas, glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) e glucosedependent insulinotropic polypeptide (GIP), são libertadas pelo intestino em resposta à ingestão de nutrientes, e estimulam a secreção de insulina contribuindo para a diminuição da produção de glucose pelo fígado por um mecanismo de contra regulação. A GLP-1 também inibe a secreção de glucagon, retarda o esvaziamento gástrico, promove a saciedade e preserva as propriedades das células β tanto em modelos animais como in vitro. Os incretinomiméticos estudados nesta revisão são a Exenatida e a Liraglutida. Estes comprovaram ser eficazes na Diabetes mellitus tipo 2, apresentando propriedades benéficas a nível do peso corporal. O estágio em Farmácia Comunitária foi realizado na Farmácia Santo da Serra entre o dia 4 de Fevereiro de 2013 e o dia 1 de Junho de 2013, com um total de 800 horas. O estágio decorreu sob orientação da Dra. Vera Libânia Serra Figueirinha e de toda a equipa da farmácia. | dc.description.abstract | The final internship is an essential link between the technical and scientific formation acquired during the five years of study and the professional practice, allowing the student to contact with the pharmaceutical profession. This report is divided in two chapters. The first chapter includes the investigation work developed, while the second chapter describes the internship held in a Community Pharmacy according to the Good Pharmaceutical Practices for Community Pharmacy. The dissertation project aimed to study weight loss related to the use of incretin mimetics. The incretin mimetics are a new drug class with anti-hyperglycemic actions that mimic the effects of endogenous incretin hormones. The incretin hormones, glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) and glucosedependent insulinotropic polypeptide (GIP), are released by the intestine in response to nutrient ingestion, and stimulate insulin secretion contributing for the lowering of glucose production by the liver due to a counter regulatory mechanism. GLP-1 also inhibits glucagon secretion, delays gastric emptying, promotes satiety and preserves the properties of the β cells in animal models and in vitro. The incretin mimetics studied in this review are Exenatide and Liraglutide. These drugs have proven to be effective in type 2 diabetes mellitus, with beneficial properties in terms of body weight. The Community Pharmacy internship was held in the Santo da Serra pharmacy between February 4th and June 1st of 2013, and had a duration of 800 hours. The internship occurred under the guidance of Dr. Vera Libânia Serra Figueirinha, along with the pharmacy staff. This report intends to describe the entire functioning of the pharmacy and the activities conducted by the pharmacist in the professional practice. | |
