Abstract(s)
A presente dissertação aborda a relação entre a arquitetura e a natureza como premissa
primordial e fundamental da intervenção na paisagem natural. “A relação entre natureza e construção
é decisiva na arquitetura. Esta relação, fonte permanente de qualquer projeto, representa
para mim como que uma obsessão; sempre foi determinante no curso da história e apesar disso
tende hoje a uma extinção progressiva”.[1]
Inquietos por esta temática, surge a motivação de aprofundar a relação entre a arquitetura
e a natureza, na tentativa de refletir e compreender o diálogo mútuo que estes devem estabelecer,
reconhecendo a responsabilidade e sensibilidade necessárias na ação projetual sobre um
lugar de contexto natural. Procura-se compreender os critérios relacionados com o conhecimento
do lugar, o valor da paisagem e o método de transformação ‘da e na’ paisagem, por meio da
arquitetura. Em paralelo, a relação afetiva e emocional com o parque natural da Serra da Estrela
induziu a vontade de intervir neste cenário pelo reconhecimento do seu valor e pelo desejo de
enaltecer e promover um património que consideramos meritório e relevante.
Neste compromisso, o presente trabalho tem como objetivo a conceção de uma proposta
para um Centro de Observação e Interpretação da Paisagem da Serra da Estrela. Um equipamento
que se pretende vocacionado para a incrementação de conhecimento e divulgação do património
ambiental da Serra da Estrela, cuja implantação, no seio do parque natural, permita em
parceria com a componente educacional, interpretativa e cultural, a observação e contemplação
da paisagem de forma direta e instruída.
Num lugar em constante mutação, a leitura e análise in situ fomentam uma forte relação
com a paisagem e as suas especificidades. A experiência sensorial e concreta que se estabelece
com o lugar, estimula uma intensa conexão, motivando uma interpretação atenta e minuciosa
que admite a paisagem como parte integrante e fundamental, onde a natureza surge como pressuposta
origem da proposta.
Assim, este trabalho pretende envolver o leitor com o enredo da narrativa que toma a
PAISAGEM como protagonista, tendo em vista uma PROPOSTA ajustada e vinculada com o
lugar, na qual se valoriza com sensibilidade e minúcia cada decisão, viabilizando a sua CONSTRUÇÃO.
No esforço e na dedicação em ‘trazer de volta’ o valor desta região, expondo as qualidades
que a ‘memória’ foi perdendo, em paralelo com a vontade de estudar e refletir sobre a consciência,
muitas vezes esquecida mas necessária na relação da arquitectura com a paisagem e
com o lugar, surge a ANAMNESE.
The present dissertation approaches the relation between architecture and nature as the primordial and fundamental premise of intervention in the natural landscape. “The relation between nature and construction is decisive in architecture. This relation, permanent source of any project, comes to me as an obsession; has always been determinant in the course of history and yet today tends to a progressive extinction.“ [1] Concerned about this theme, there is a motivation to understand the relation between architecture and nature, an attempt to reflect and understand the mutual dialogue that they must establish, recognizing the responsibility and sensitivity necessary in the project action on a place of natural context. It seeks to understand the criteria related to the knowledge of the place, the value of the landscape and the method of transformation ‘“of and in” the landscape, through architecture. In parallel, the affective and emotional relation with the natural park of Serra da Estrela induced the desire to intervene in this scenario for the recognition of its value and the desire to enhance and promote a heritage that we consider praiseworthy and relevant. In this commitment, the present work aims at the conception of a proposal for a Center of Observation and Interpretation of the Landscape of the Serra da Estrela. An equipment intended to increase knowledge and dissemination of the environmental heritage of Serra da Estrela, whose implementation, within the natural park, allows, in partnership with the educational, interpretative and cultural component, the observation and contemplation of the landscape in a direct and instructed way. In an ever-changing place, in situ reading and analysis fosters a strong relation with the landscape and its specificities. The sensorial and concrete experience that is established with the place stimulates an intense connection, motivating an attentive and meticulous interpretation that acknowledges the landscape as an integral and fundamental part, where nature arises as the presupposed origin of the proposal’s guidelines. Therefore, this work intends to involve the reader with the plot of the narrative that takes the LANDSCAPE as protagonist, in view of a PROPOSAL adjusted and linked with the place, in which each decision is valued with sensitivity and detail, making its CONSTRUCTION viable. Through the effort and dedication to “bring back” the value of this region, exposing the qualities that the “memory” has lost, in parallel with the desire to study and reflect on the awareness, often forgotten but necessary consciousness in the relation of architecture to the landscape and with the place, comes forth ANAMNESIS.
