Abstract(s)
A presente tese insere-se no domínio do planeamento urbano, abrangendo as áreas da política urbana e da reurbanização. Esta tese trata de denunciar como as cidades são transformadas em utopias urbanas. De tal modo que, se ignora muitas vezes o património cultural que lhe está associado. Aqui se revela como os comportamentos individuais da sociedade influenciaram a dinâmica da cidade no tempo e no espaço. Também é apresentada uma proposta urbanística, realizada no âmbito do programa polis, que pretende tornar a Covilhã uma cidade mais coesa e salvaguardar a sua imagem e a vivência.
Focam-se essencialmente os aspectos que contribuem para o estado inerte das
cidades. Que são a expansão do edificado e a alienação dos centros urbanos consolidados.
