Abstract(s)
O presente relatório apresenta o estágio curricular desenvolvido no clube Holmes Place
Fitness Professionals” (CMQ-FP). A amostra foi composta por 24 profissionais do
Holmes Place Braga.
o desenvolvimento pessoal. Fatores extrínsecos, como reconhecimento externo,
revelaram menor relevância. Foram ainda identificadas associações significativas entre
alguns fatores motivacionais e variáveis como sexo, experiência profissional e formação
académica.
A experiência permitiu consolidar aprendizagens, melhorar competências práticas e
This report presents the curricular internship carried out at the Holmes Place club in Braga, as part of the Master’s Degree in Sport Sciences at the University of Beira Interior, with a total of 750 hours. The main goal was the development of professional skills in the field of physical exercise, particularly in personal training, group classes, gym floor supervision, fitness assessment, and engagement with different functional areas of the club. Throughout the internship, tasks were performed in several areas, such as front desk, nutrition, physiotherapy, SPA, management, group classes in studio and pool settings, and personal training. The variety of tasks provided a broad perspective on the operation of a fitness club, contributing to my technical, organisational, and communication development. The report also includes a research study focused on the motivation of fitness professionals, based on the “Coach Motivation Questionnaire in Fitness Professionals” (CMQ-FP). The sample consisted of 24 professionals from Holmes Place Braga. The results revealed a predominance of intrinsic and identified motivation, with emphasis on the value of client interaction and personal development. Extrinsic factors, such as external recognition, were found to be less relevant. Significant associations were also identified between some motivational factors and variables such as sex, professional experience, and academic background. This experience allowed for the consolidation of knowledge, the improvement of practical skills, and the promotion of critical reflection on the challenges and demands of the fitness sector, contributing to the trainee’s preparation for professional practice in the field.
