Abstract(s)
Currently, on the agenda rising fossil fuel prices and the problem of global warming due to the greenhouse effect. For this reason the demand for alternative energy said, in addition to fossil fuels, it appears as an activity for growth and development. This work falls within the scope of the economic and financial analysis of Decree-Law nº 118-A/2010 of 25 October and its comparison with the previous Decree-Law n º 363/2007 of 2 November. To reach that goal we developed an application in "MATLAB Guide" that allows calculate the indicators of economic-financial assessment of photovoltaic installations. The return periods (payback), the Internal Rate of Return and the Net Values updated were calculated. The economic and financial indicators were compared in order to determine the Decree-Law that is more advantageous to the photovoltaic energy producer. It was observed that the current Decree Law, despite presenting a subsidized rate over a longer period and the equipment has low cost and high efficiency, is disadvantageous compared to the former.
