Este documento encontra-se dividido em dois capítulos. No primeiro é abordada a experiência profissional na vertente de Farmácia Comunitária. No segundo capítulo, encontra-se desenvolvido o projeto de investigação, abordando um tema relacionado com as Ciências Farmacêuticas.
O estágio em Farmácia Comunitária (Capítulo I) decorreu, no período de 26 de Janeiro a 16 de Junho de 2016, na Farmácia Teixeira, na Guarda, e constituiu uma ótima preparação para os desafios esperados num, cada vez mais competitivo, mercado de trabalho. Observou-se o importante papel do farmacêutico, enquanto profissional de saúde e promotor do uso racional do medicamento. Durante o período do estágio tomou-se contacto com as diferentes áreas da farmácia comunitária. Após a realização deste estágio pôde-se constatar que o farmacêutico tem de estar preparado para lidar com todas as situações com as quais se pode vir a deparar no dia-a-dia da sua profissão, devendo, deste modo, proceder a uma constante atualização profissional nas diversas áreas científicas do seu currículo e pautar-se pelo exercício da profissão de uma forma ética.
Em Portugal, à semelhança de muitos outros países da Europa e do Mundo, assiste-se a uma crescente utilização dos fármacos anticoagulantes e antiagregantes plaquetares. A informação científica respeitante a esta temática ainda é limitada relativamente e, por isso, com o objetivo de avaliar o perfil de utilização destes fármacos, bem como os seus efeitos secundários e possíveis interações medicamentosas, desenvolveu-se este projeto de investigação (Capítulo II).
Para isso, realizou-se um estudo observacional, do tipo descritivo e transversal, em 13 Farmácias Comunitárias da Região Centro e a amostra utilizada foi composta por 260 utentes utilizadores de fármacos anticoagulantes e/ou antiagregantes. A informação foi obtida através da realização de inquéritos individuais. Recorreu-se a um tratamento estatístico descritivo e inferencial dos dados, que se encontram aqui descritos. Dentro dos principais resultados obtidos destaca-se o facto de já haver uma utilização marcada de novos anticoagulantes orais, o que pode dever-se à não necessidade de monitorizar o IRN regularmente, a um controlo melhor da terapêutica e redução dos efeitos adversos. No entanto, foram ainda relatados alguns efeitos adversos com a terapia anticoagulante e antiagregante plaquetar, e ainda foi referida a utilização simultânea de fármacos com potencial risco de interacções e o consumo concomitante de tabaco e de álcool com alguma frequência. Assim, um maior acompanhamento dos utentes e a monitorização da sua terapêutica por parte dos farmacêuticos podem ser essenciais para o sucesso terapêutico e para evitar a utilização excessiva destes medicamentos.
This document is divided into two chapters. In the first chapter, we have an approach to the professional experience in the context of the Community Pharmacy. In the second, we can find the whole research project which was developed around a topic related to the Pharmaceutical Sciences. The internship in Community Pharmacy (Chapter I) occurred between 26th January 2016 and 16th June 2016 at Farmácia Teixeira, in Guarda, and was a remarkable preparation for the predictable challenges of an increasingly competitive work market. It could be observed the important role performed by the pharmacist not only as a health professional, but also as a promoter of the rational usage of medicines. During this period of time, there was a real and intense contact with the different areas of the Community Pharmacy. After it, it could be noticed that the pharmacist must be prepared to deal with all the situations which he/she might come across in his/her daily work and, therefore, he/she must also consider doing a constant professional updating in the several scientific areas of his/her curriculum and be regulated by an ethical practice of this job. In Portugal, alike many other countries in Europe and around the world, we can witness a growing usage of anticoagulant and antiplatelet drugs. The scientific information concerning these themes is still relatively limited and, consequently, aiming the assessment of the usage profile of these medicines as well as their secondary effects and possible drug interactions, this research project was developed (Chapter II). In order to accomplish it, an observational study (descriptive and transverse) was carried out in thirteen (13) Community Pharmacies in the Central Region of Portugal and the sample used was composed by 260 users of anticoagulant and/or antiplatelet drugs. The information was obtained through the implementation of individual surveys. A descriptive and inferential statistical treatment of the data here presented was then prosecuted. Among the main results that were reached, the fact that there has already been a pronounced usage of new oral anticoagulants stands out, which might happen since there is no need of monitoring the IRN regularly, there is a better control of the therapeutics as well as the reduction of adverse effects. However, we could also report some adverse effects with the anticoagulant and antiplatelet medication and it was still mentioned the simultaneous usage of drugs with potential risk of interactions and the concomitant consumption of tobacco and alcohol with some frequency. Thus, a further tracking of users and the monitoring of their therapeutics by the pharmacists may become essential for the therapeutic success and, moreover, to avoid the excessive usage of these medicines.
