Abstract(s)

These characters refer to children victims of the Mozambican and Angolan civil conflicts to by these novels. The concept of repudiation comes out from the analysis of the adverse circumstances in which both characters grow up, improper to the happy and healthy growth of any child. The war is being presented as the main factor and the fact that African fiction Portuguese-speaking countries to register as a phenomenon in the service of national construction. The objectives consist in understanding the protagonist of the child in the romances compared as a repudiation of the civil war, one of the evils that affects post-colonial Africa the most. The methodology adopted is Comparative study, because it is the most adequate to this type of study, because in literature this methodology doesn’t consist only in the comparison of two or more objects but also in articulating the inherent aspects to the contexts to which the text refers. Thus, this study starts from a historical contextualization of the two wars and the situation of the child, followed by an approach justifying the compromised character of the post-colonial Angolan and Mozambican fiction. The analysis follows the theoretical principles on the construction of the novel character, namely the narratology, axiological and semioticcontextual processes. Also, the comparison of the protagonists in both the similarities and the differences is based on a set of elements associated with the processes that construct them as victims, namely the actions, characterization, physical and psychological spaces and effects of these circumstances on their ideological structures.
