Abstract(s)
longo prazo.
This dissertation, developed within the scope of the Master’s Degree in Entrepreneurship and Business Creation at the University of Beira Interior (UBI), aims to analyze how Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) practices influence business innovation performance, using the company Twintex as a case study. The research builds on the growing awareness surrounding CSR, which has increasingly established itself as an essential element for organizational competitiveness and sustainability. The research seeks to understand how companies can reconcile economic objectives with social and environmental commitments while simultaneously promoting innovation. Following a qualitative approach, the study applies an interview guide to eight employees with relevant roles within the company, complemented by the analysis of internal documents and publicly available information. The objectives of the research are as follows: (i) to identify the main CSR practices developed by Twintex; (ii) to examine the innovation practices implemented at the level of products, processes, and organization; (iii) to explore employees’ perceptions regarding the relationship between CSR and innovation; and (iv) to compare the empirical results with the existing literature, in order to identify convergences and divergences. The findings show that the integration of CSR practices is associated with the strengthening of innovation capacity, both in products and processes and in the promotion of an organizational culture focused on continuous improvement. It is concluded that CSR, in addition to representing an ethical commitment, can be understood as a driver of innovation and business competitiveness, contributing to longterm sustainability.
