| dc.description.abstract | A elaboração deste relatório, com o título “Adaptação de lentes de contacto em Queratocone, Suspeita de Retinopatia Diabética, Insuficiência de Convergência”, com duração de 6 meses na Clínica Dr. Ergo, Viseu, está incluído no plano curricular do mestrado em Optometria e Ciências da Visão da Universidade da Beira Interior. Este estágio tem como principal objetivo a aplicação dos conhecimentos teóricos e práticos adquiridos durante o curso num ambiente clínico real. O primeiro caso clínico trata-se da Adaptação de lentes de contacto em Queratocone. O Queratocone é uma patologia ocular não inflamatória, em que estão envolvidas alterações estruturais da córnea, nomeadamente curvatura e espessura. Por norma, trata-se de uma ectasia binocular. A sintomatologia está relacionada com a diminuição da acuidade visual (AV), com a presença de imagens “fantasmas” e halos, entre outros. Para se despistar tal patologia, usou-se a Topografia Corneana. Neste caso, a solução para o paciente envolveu a adaptação de lentes de contacto híbridas. O segundo caso, corresponde a uma Suspeita de Retinopatia Diabética que a nível global é uma das principais causas de perda de visão. No âmbito clínico, a Retinopatia Diabética é caracterizada por sinais microvasculares na retina. Nos estágios iniciais pode ser uma condição patológica assintomática, o que reforça a importância da avaliação da saúde ocular com regularidade para a atuação precoce do devido tratamento. A paciente foi encaminhada para a especialidade de Oftalmologia. Relativamente ao terceiro caso clínico, foi selecionado um caso de visão binocular (VB), uma Síndrome de Insuficiência de Convergência. Tal condição é muito frequente e está integrada nas alterações da VB. Os sintomas são fadiga ocular, dor de cabeça, diplopia, entre outros, relacionados com dificuldades em manter a função visual em equilíbrio nas atividades relacionadas com a visão de perto. O tratamento recomendado para este caso foi a terapia visual por ser o mais eficiente, garantindo, melhores resultados. | por |
| dc.description.abstract | The preparation of this report, with the title “Adaptation of contact lenses in a Keratoconus, Suspicion of Diabetic Retinopathy, Convergence Insufficiency”, lasting 6 months at Clínica Dr. Ergo, Viseu is included in the curriculum of the master’s degree in Optometry and Vision Sciences of the University of Beira Interior. The internship aims to apply the theoretical and practical knowledge acquired during the course in a real clinical environment. The first clinical case is the Adaptation of contact lenses in a Keratoconus. Keratoconus is a non-inflammatory eye pathology, in which structural changes of the cornea are involved, namely curvature and thickness. Usually, it is a binocular ectasia. The symptomatology is related to the decrease of (visual acuity) VA, with the presence of “ghost” imagens and halos, among others. To rule out such pathology, Corneal Topography was used. In this case, the solution for the patient involved the adaptation of hybrid contact lenses. The second case corresponds to Suspicion of Diabetic Retinopathy, which is globally one of the main cause of vision loss. In the clinical field, Diabetic Retinopathy is characterized by microvascular signs in the retina. In the early stages it can be an asymptomatic pathological condition, which reinforces the importance of regular eye health assessment for early action of due treatment. The patient was referred to the specialty of ophthalmology. Regarding the third clinical case, a case of binocular vision (BV), a Convergence Insufficiency Syndrome, was selected. This condition is very frequent and is integrated in the BV changes. The symptoms are eye fatigue, headache, diplopia, among others, related to difficulties in maintaining visual function in balance in activities related to near vision. The treatment recommended for this case was the visual therapy for being the most efficient, ensuring better results. | eng |
