Abstract(s)
O desenvolvimento de programas adequados de atividade física e desportiva pode melhorar o
bem estar psicológico e reduzir o risco de determinados problemas de saúde uma vez que a
autoestima tem ocupado consistentemente uma posição central na explicação do
comportamento humano.
Foi objetivo deste estudo avaliar os efeitos de um programa de atividade física na autoestima
de pessoas com deficiência da C.E.R.C.I. Guarda.
Metodologia, a nossa amostra foi constituída por 30 alunos de ambos os sexos com idades
compreendidas entre os 12 e os 51 anos que frequentam a C.E.R.C.I. Guarda (Cooperativa
para a Educação e Reabilitação de Cidadãos Inadaptados), sendo 14 do sexo masculino e 16 do
sexo feminino.
Foi aplicado um programa de atividade física durante 14 semanas que teve início no dia 03 de
outubro de 2011 e terminou em fevereiro de 2012.
O instrumento utilizado para a avaliação da autoestima foi o teste (Piers-Harris Children”s
Self-Concept Scale) de Ellen V. Piers e Dale B. Harris.
O teste foi aplicado 2 vezes: uma em finais de setembro e outra quando acabou o programa
de atividade física, em fevereiro de 2012.
A comparação dos dois testes foi feita através da análise estatística de dados – SPSS (versão
17) com recurso a um dos testes de análise estatística (t de student), com o qual se
compararam os valores médios do primeiro e segundo momento.
Ao analisar os resultados desta investigação verificou-se que existem diferenças
estatisticamente significativas entre a primeira e a segunda passagem do teste de autoavaliação
da autoestima, tendo-se constatado que a autoestima melhorou significativamente.
No final desta investigação pode-se concluir que a prática de exercício físico faz aumentar a
autoestima dos alunos.
The development of appropriate programs of sport and physical activity can improve psychological well-being and reduce the risk of certain health problems. Because self-esteem has consistently held a central position in explaining human behavior. The objective of this study was to evaluate the effects of a program of physical activity on self-esteem of people with disabilities from CERCI-Guarda. Methodology, our sample consisted of 30 students of both sexes, aged 12 to 51 years, attending CERCI-Guarda (Cooperative for education and rehabilitation of citizens with disabilities) 14 men and 16 women. The instrument used for the evaluation of self-esteem was the test (Piers-Harris Children”s Self-Concept Scale) from Ellen V. Piers and Dale B. Harris. The test was administered in two times: one in late September and another when the physical activity program was finished in February 2012. Comparison of the two tests was performed using a packet of data analysis - SPSS (version 17) using a statistical tests (t Student), with which the medium values of the first and second passage were compared. In analyzing the results of this investigation it was found that there are significant differences between the first and second passage of the self-assessment test of self-esteem, and it was found that self-esteem significantly improved. At the end of this research it can be concluded that physical exercise increases the self esteem pupils.
