Clara Menéres apresenta, entre 1968 e 1972, algumas obras intencionalmente desafiadoras para a sociedade portuguesa do Estado Novo. Neste contexto, permitem interpretações equívocas, mas marcam definitivamente a posição da artista, apesar da sua relativa invisibilidade no presente. Contribui para uma controvérsia construtiva, ajudando a abrir outros percursos contra o conservadorismo instalado.
Clara Menéres presents, between 1968 and 1972, some intentionally challenging work for the Portuguese society during the dictatorship known as Estado Novo. In this context, these works allows misinterpretation, but definitely stands for the artist's position, despite her present relative invisibility. She contributes to a constructive controversy, helping to open other paths against the installed conservatism.
