Abstract(s)
A gestão da área da Segurança e Saúde do Trabalho “SST” / Saúde, Higiene e Segurança do Trabalho “SHST” é uma área cada vez mais entendida como importante, e tendo em conta que havendo uma sua “boa” gestão traz vantagens no âmbito geral de gestão organizacional conceito reiterado pela Agência Europeia da Segurança e Saúde no Trabalho.
Empresas prestadoras de serviços no sector da construção industrial em Portugal foram o objeto de estudo do presente trabalho sendo que este demonstra deficit ao nível de estudos de natureza académica e outros.
Como objetivo principal pretendeu-se identificar fatores limitadores e potenciadores, respeitantes à área da SHST, que influenciam a gestão organizacional e, consequentemente, como as organizações prestadoras de serviços no sector da construção industrial em Portugal priorizam os fatores de gestão SHST identificados no presente estudo.
A metodologia principal consistiu no desenvolvimento e aplicação de um questionário, de forma a ter uma perceção do que as empresas participantes do estudo vs colaboradores da área SHST das mesmas pensam sobre os onze fatores de gestão SHST identificados no estudo, no sentido de avaliar a sua importância, e de até que ponto se pode afirmar que existem tendências face a um conjunto de fatores de gestão SHST.
Uma das principais conclusões deste estudo aponta para a demonstração da importância dada pela amostra do estudo, a todos os fatores de gestão SST/SHST identificados no mesmo. Conseguindo-obter-se também uma hierarquização dos fatores SHST identificados no estudo em termos de importância na gestão SHST/gestão organizacional.
Foi elaborada uma proposta com um conjunto de medidas de gestão SHST assente nos onze fatores de gestão identificados no instrumento de estudo – o questionário, que procura apoiar e ajudar a melhorar o desempenho das organizações prestadoras de serviços no sector da construção industrial em Portugal, sendo este o objetivo secundário do estudo.
O desenvolvimento deste estudo permite relacionar entre si vários temas de fundo, a gestão SST/SHST com enfoque na análise efetuada aos fatores de gestão SST/SHST identificados e aplicados no instrumento de estudo, e as empresas prestadoras de serviços no sector da construção industrial em Portugal.
É um estudo de natureza académica que pretende contribuir com matéria relevante numa área especifica em que existe deficit e, com isso, apoiar de algum modo as organizações a conseguirem melhores desempenhos na área SHST e, consequentemente, melhores desempenhos de gestão organizacional global.

Companies of service providers in the industrial construction sector in Portugal was the object of this study, and demonstrating deficit at the level of academic nature studies and others. As main objective was intended to identify limiting and enhancing fatores relating to H&S area that influencing organizational management, and consequently, as companies of service providers in the industrial construction sector in Portugal prioritize H&S management factors identified in this study. The principal methodology is the development and application of a questionnaire in order to have a sense of what the participating companies in the study vs employees of H&S area think about the eleven H&S management factors identified in the study in order to assess their importance, and to what it can be said that there are trends facing a number of H&S management factors. One of the main conclusions of this study points to the demonstration of the importance given by the sample of the study, to all the H&S management factors identified therein. Managing to however get also a hierarchy of H&S management factors identified in the study in terms of importance on H&S management/organizational management. It was a proposal drawn up with a set of H&S management measures based on the eleven management factors identified in study tool – questionnaire, which seeks to support, help to improve the performance of companies of service providers in the industrial construction sector in Portugal, with the result of the secondary objective of the study. The development of this study allows relating to each other several substantive subjects, the H&S Management focusing on the analysis performed to H&S management factors identified and applied in the study instrument, and the companies of service providers in the industrial construction sector in Portugal. It is a study of an academic nature that aims to contribute with relevant material in a specific area where there is deficit, and thereby support somehow organizations/companies to achieve better performance in H&S area and, consequently, better performance of overall organizational management.
