As profundas transformações sociais ocorridas nas últimas décadas traduziram-se numa economia globalizada, caracterizada por elevados níveis de competitividade, concorrência intensa e mercados cada vez mais dinâmicos e instáveis. Nesta conjuntura, verifica-se que o sector do Termalismo tem sofrido quebras consideráveis nos últimos anos, facto que coloca, às Termas de S. Pedro do Sul, dificuldades acrescidas no que respeita à sua capacidade de equilíbrio financeiro e sustentabilidade. Este contexto obriga a empresa a procurar optimizar o seu modelo de gestão, por forma a responder adequadamente às novas exigências colocadas. Nesse sentido, a Análise Financeira revela-se uma ferramenta muito pertinente, uma vez que fornece indicadores precisos, que permitem efectuar um diagnóstico correcto da performance global da empresa (centrada em três aspectos distintos: equilíbrio financeiro, rendibilidade e risco), contribuindo também no processo de tomada de decisão, nomeadamente na procura das estratégias mais adequadas para optimizar o modelo de gestão actual e melhorar os resultados obtidos.

At this conjuncture, the Thermalism sector has suffered considerable losses in recent years, resulting in additional difficulties to Termas de S. Pedro do Sul, especially regarding to its financial balance and sustainability. This specific context requires this organization to optimize its management model in order to adequately respond to the new demands. Accordingly, the financial analysis proves to be a very relevant tool, as it provides precise indicators that are essential to make a proper diagnosis of the organization’s overall performance (focused on three distinct aspects: financial stability, profitability and risk), contributing positively in the decision-making process, particularly in the definition of the most appropriate strategies to optimize the current management model and improve results.
