Burnout e satisfação profissional em docentes universitários

| dc.description.abstract | O presente trabalho teve como objectivo analisar e compreender a relação existente entre as variáveis Burnout e Satisfação Profissional, assim como avaliá-las em relação a algumas variáveis sociodemográficas. Para concretização de tal objectivo este estudo de natureza transversal contou com a participação de 121 docentes de três Universidades portuguesas, aos quais foram aplicados 3 questionários: o questionário sociodemográfico, o Maslach Burnout Inventory- Educators Survey (MBI-ES), e o Minnesota Satisfaction Questionnaire – Short form (MSQ-Short Form). Os resultados obtidos através da aplicação dos métodos de correlação e regressão linear (simples e múltipla) revelaram no geral a existência de uma correlação negativa entre as variáveis em estudo, especificamente entre a satisfação e a exaustão emocional (r =-.651, p <.01) e a satisfação com a despersonalização (r =-.327, p <.01), tendo sido encontrada uma correlação positiva com a realização profissional (r =.298, p <.01). Ao nível da regressão, no geral, os resultados evidenciaram a possível relação bidireccional entre as variáveis, destacando-se sobretudo a capacidade preditiva da exaustão emocional na satisfação e vice-versa. Além destes resultados são ainda apresentados alguns relativamente a alguns dados sociodemográficos, tendo as várias hipóteses levantadas sido alvo do teste independent sample t-test. Finalmente neste trabalho são apresentadas algumas limitações e implicações futuras assim como algumas sugestões para novas investigações. | por |
| dc.description.abstract | This study was intended analyze and understand the relationship between the variables Burnout and Work Satisfaction, and assesses them in relation to some sociodemographic variables. To concretize this goal this transversal study involved the participation of 121 teachers from three portuguese Universities, which received 3 questionnaires: the sociodemographic questionnaire, the Maslach Burnout Inventory-Educators Survey (MBI-ES) and the Minnesota Satisfaction Questionnaire - Short Form (MSQ Short-Form). The results obtained by the application the methods of correlation and linear regression (simple and multiple) revealed in general the existence of a negative correlation between the variables, specifically between satisfaction and emotional exhaustion (r = - .651, p <.01) and satisfaction with the depersonalization (r = - .327, p <.01), with professional achievement was a positive correlation (r = .298, p <.01). In terms of regression, in general, the results showed some possible bidirectional relationship between variables, particularly standing out the predictive ability of emotional exhaustion in satisfaction and vice versa. In addition to these results are still presented relation to some demographic data, several hypotheses have been the target of the test independent sample t-test. Finally this paper presents some limitations and future implications as well as some suggestions for further research. | |
