A língua portuguesa atual, na sua variedade europeia, apresenta oito possíveis realizações
fonéticas (podendo mesmo ser muda) para a vogal <e> quando aparece em posição
inicial. Tratar-se-ão nestas páginas essas realizações que colocam muitos problemas aos
aprendizes da língua de Camões. Dar-se-á uma atenção especial à pronúncia da grafia
<e> em sílaba aberta e átona que exibe três realizações: [ɛ], [e] e [i]. Os dados parece
que demonstram uma aproximação dos três resultados para [i] nos últimos tempos
The current Portuguese language, in its European range, features eight possible phonetic realizations (and it can be voiceless) for the vowel <e> when it appears in the starting position. These pages will trate these achievements that put many problems to learners of the language of Camões. It will be given special attention to the pronunciation of the spelling <e> in open and unstressed syllable that displays three achievements: [ɛ], [e] and [i].
