A importância da evidência física nas unidades hospitalares

| dc.description.abstract | A prestação de cuidados de saúde é, sem dúvida, uma das áreas mais importantes no sector dos serviços, uma vez que dela depende o bem-estar físico e também psicológico de cada indivíduo que deles necessite. Devido a esta importância, e também ao facto de cada vez mais as unidades hospitalares públicas se encontrarem sujeitas à concorrência de privados e à crescente exigência dos seus públicos, verifica-se a necessidade da sua gestão como se de uma empresa se tratasse. As evidências físicas, um dos elementos no composto do marketing mix dos serviços, apresentam grande importância para as organizações prestadoras de serviços na medida em que podem influenciar as reações dos seus públicos e consequentes comportamentos. Neste sentido, as unidades hospitalares serão beneficiadas pela boa gestão das evidências físicas que fazem parte do seu healthscape. Neste sentido, esta investigação pretende contribuir para o conhecimento do papel que as evidências físicas desempenham para o grau de satisfação geral e vontade de recomendar dos utentes, visitas/acompanhantes e funcionários das unidades hospitalares, bem como para dar a conhecer quais as evidências físicas que poderão ser consideradas mais importantes. Para tal, foi realizado, no Hospital Pêro da Covilhã, um inquérito por questionário a 150 indivíduos distribuídos pelos três grupos anteriormente referidos. Pelos resultados obtidos, foi possível verificar que não existem diferenças na perceção das evidências físicas segundo a idade e género, sendo esta diferença verificada apenas entre os diferentes públicos (utentes, visitas/acompanhantes e funcionários). Os resultados permitiram também verificar que as evidências físicas influenciam a satisfação dos públicos, bem como a sua vontade de recomendar a instituição a terceiros. Foi ainda possível verificar como elementos mais importantes das evidências físicas, os aspetos relacionados com as sensações, estética interior, aparência dos funcionários, limpeza e parqueamento. Devido à pouca abordagem ao tema, apresenta-se este estudo como uma fonte de conhecimento relativamente às evidências físicas nas unidades hospitalares portuguesas, o que poderá permitir a estas organizações uma melhor gestão do seu healthscape. | por |
| dc.description.abstract | The provision of health care is undoubtedly one of the most important areas in the service sector, since the physical and psychological well-being of each individual that is in need depends on it. Due to this importance, and also the fact that more and more public hospitals are being subject to competition from private companies and increasing demanding from their publics, there is the need for their management as if they were a private business. The physical evidence, one of the elements in the compound of the marketing mix of services, is extremely important for organizations that provide services in that it can influence the reactions of the public and their consequent behaviors. In this sense, hospitals belonging to the service sector will benefit from the good management of physical evidence that is part of their healthscape. In this sense, this research aims to contribute to the knowledge of the role that physical evidence play for overall satisfaction and willingness to recommend of customers, visits and staff of the hospital as well as to make known what physical evidence that may be considered more important. For this purpose, it was conducted at the Hospital Pêro da Covilhã, a questionnaire distributed to 150 individuals from the three aforementioned groups. From the results, it was found that there are no differences in the perception of physical evidence according to age and gender. This difference was observed only between the different publics (customers, visits and staff). The results also verify that the physical evidence have influence on customer, visits and staff satisfaction, and on their willingness to recommend the institution to others. It was still possible to see has the most important elements of physical evidence, the aspects related to the sensations, interior aesthetics, appearance of staff, cleaning and parking. Due to the low approach to the subject, this study presents itself as a source of knowledge concerning physical evidence in Portuguese hospitals, which may allow these organizations to better manage their healthscape. | |
