Abstract(s)
The objective of this study is based on the analysis of Physical Fitness in young people aged 11 to 12 years and the relevance in applying the battery of Fitnessgram tests in Physical Education classes. This work aims to know and evaluate the levels of Physical Fitness, and at the same time improve the improvement of these levels in young people of the Grouping of Schools of Sertã. We chose a comparative study and for this, two groups were created: group 1 where it was designated by experimental group and group 2 designated by control group, one with a more specific training directed to the development of physical capacities; the other with a more general training of a Physical Education class. In the Sample of this study participated 78 students of both genders. This sample was divided into two groups. The experimental group (GE = 40 students) and the control group (GC = 38 students), the first one was submitted to a specific and intensive work during 7 weeks, focusing on the variables aerobic fitness, muscular fitness: strength and flexibility and body composition: Body Mass Index (BMI). The exercises performed were always in agreement with the specificity of each variable. GC performed conventional Physical Education classes, sometimes performing the same exercises, but without applying a specific work plan. The results obtained were not very significant, since the time of evaluation was reduced, and the sample small and little differential. In general, girls outnumber boys physically, but they do not stay below ZSAF. In this study three hypotheses were placed, the first one if there are significant differences in physical capacities, between Experimental Group and Control Group due to BMI, which was not verified, being this hypothesis null. The second was if there were significant differences between the genders in the Fitnessgram test battery in relation to the Healthy Zone. Here again, the hypothesis was found to be null, with no significant difference between genders, except for the abdominals where the assumption of p=0 , 05 is verified. Regarding the third question, if the students presented levels of Physical Fitness within the considered by the battery of tests Fitnessgram like ZSAF in all the realized tests, it is valid, since in general in both groups and genera the result is positive, their values being within or above the ZSAF
