| dc.description.abstract | A Serra da Estrela possui um elevado potencial turístico pela sua beleza natural e paisagem. O Alto da Torre, que é o ponto mais alto de Portugal Continental, é principalmente procurado pelos turistas devido à queda de neve e por ser o único sítio do país que se pode praticar desportos de inverno. Esta zona não é apenas paisagisticamente valiosa nessa estação, mas sim todo o ano e é potencialmente atrativa para outros desportos de natureza, existindo já alguns trilhos de grande interesse. No entanto a existência da Estância de Esqui da Serra da Estrela (adiante designada por EESE), com o seu edificado, os equipamentos mecânicos e os movimentos de terras, provoca grandes impactos ambientais e prejudica a biodiversidade do sítio. O conjunto edificado que se situa a jusante das pistas, constituído pelo edifício central de apoio e pelo restaurante, é a situação mais problemática, com maior impacto visual e paisagístico e é já uma marca irreversível no terreno. Outro problema que afeta o local é a sazonalidade da atividade turística desenvolvida, que cessa totalmente nos períodos de ausência de neve transformando aqueles edifícios em lugares desertos e sem funcionalidade. A presente dissertação, no contexto da análise do funcionamento do complexo e do seu impacto no património natural, pretende propor um novo edifício devido à interferência do pré-existente no sistema hídrico da envolvente causando um corte no nível freático consequentemente afetando o desenvolvimento da vegetação próxima, adotando um conjunto de intervenções na Estância de modo a minimizar os impactos negativos referidos anteriormente. Relativamente a atividade sazonal, o mobiliário da zona de aluguer de equipamento é movível de maneira a criar e libertar espaço possibilitando a utilização para outras atividades (por exemplo organização de passeios pedestres, escalada, caiaque, paintball entre outros), contrariando a afluência de turistas e clientes somente na época de inverno. | por |
| dc.description.abstract | The Serra da Estrela has a high tourist potential due to its natural beauty and landscape. Alto da Torre, which is the highest point in mainland Portugal, is mainly sought after by tourists because of the snowfall and because it is the only place in the country where winter sports can be practiced. This area is not only scenically valuable in that season, but all year round, and is potentially attractive for other nature sports, with some very interesting trails already in existence. However, the existence of the Serra da Estrela Ski Resort (hereinafter EESE), with its buildings, mechanical equipment and earth movements, causes major environmental impacts and damages the biodiversity of the site. The buildings downstream of the tracks, consisting of the central support building and the restaurant, are the most problematic situation, with the greatest visual and landscape impact, and are already an irreversible mark on the terrain. Another problem affecting the site is the seasonality of the tourism activity developed, which ceases completely in the periods of absence of snow, turning those buildings into deserted places with no functionality. The present dissertation, in the context of the analysis of the functioning of the complex and its impact on the natural patrimony, intends to propose a new building due to the interference of the pre-existing one in the surrounding water system causing a cut in the water table consequently affecting the development of the nearby vegetation, adopting a set of interventions in the Resort to minimize the negative impacts mentioned above. Regarding seasonal activity, the furniture of the rental equipment area is movable in order to create and free space enabling the use for other activities (e.g. organization of hiking, climbing, kayaking, paintball, among others), countering the influx of tourists and customers only in the winter season. | eng |
