Este documento tem como principal objetivo proceder a um estudo exploratório sobre a interação entre Internet das coisas e o Lean Manufacturing.
Numa sociedade cada vez mais competitiva, e com a conjuntura económica desfavorável em que vivemos é necessário que as empresas apostem em meios alternativos para conseguirem melhorar os seus processos produtivos. Assim surgiu uma nova filosofia, Lean Manufacturing, que consiste em produzir cada vez mais, com menos custos e de forma mais célere e eficiente.
As empresas têm apostado na melhoria contínua em todas as suas áreas, sendo a inovação um fator chave. É neste contexto que se aborda o conceito recentemente designado por Internet of Things (Internet das coisas). Conceito que surgiu em 1999, e que tem como principal objetivo tornar os objetos autónomos e inteligentes o suficiente para que não necessitem de intervenção humana.
Em suma, este trabalho irá relacionar algumas ferramentas do Lean Manufacturing com a Internet of Things.
This documents’ main objective is to study on the interaction between Internet of Things and Lean Manufacturing. On a more and more competitive society and an unpleasant economy that we live on today it is necessary that companies bet on alternative ways to improve their productive methods. In order to achieve that, Lean Manufacturing was born, a philosophy that consists on increasing production with less cost, faster and more efficiently. Companies bet on continuous improvement in all possible areas with innovation being a key point for success. In this context the new concept called Internet of Things will be approached. This concept was born in 1999 and has as primary objective to make objects become smart and autonomous enough so that no human intervention is necessary. In resume, this task will relate some of Lean Manufacturing tools with the Internet of Things.
