Abstract(s)
A presente dissertação tem como tema a elaboração de um projeto de arquitectura que consiste numa
intervenção sobre um imóvel na praia da Torreira. Constituído por um restaurante e uma pensão, que
dão pelo nome comercial “O Moliceiro”. Se o seu nome se relaciona com a região onde o edifício se
insere, o mesmo não se pode dizer em relação à sua arquitectura. Daqui nasce a preocupação que
preside a esta dissertação, e que se prende com a ideia de lugar, de como certa região se apresenta.
Assim, procura-se refletir sobre a forma de intervir arquitetonicamente nesta região que, como
outras, foi descaracterizada por um “progresso” desmedido. O lote foi escolhido pelo convívio que
tenho com ele desde a minha juventude, e pelas boas recordações que me traz.
A ideia passa por manter a mesma função, mas com conceitos diferentes, passando este lote a
albergar um hostel com bistrô-bar, agregando uma escola náutica, que se justifica pela carência deste
tipo de serviços nesta zona balnear. A nível conceptual procurou-se recriar elementos culturais e
históricos deste local, aliando-os ao progresso e à contemporaneidade.
Se, por um lado, pretendemos enquadrar elementos que identificam o edifício com uma
contextualização cultural, por outro não devemos atribuir a esses elementos a essência da qualidade
arquitetónica da intervenção como se estivéssemos a propor um receituário para que toda a
construção se uniformize, e se perdesse no processo a especificidade de cada edificação e a
singularidade de cada autor.
Sendo assim, pretende-se que o edifício se possa inspirar no passado, mas ao mesmo tempo cumpra
as necessidades atuais, desta forma modernizando-se e não ficando preso ao passado.
This dissertation has as its theme the elaboration of an architecture project that consists of an intervention on a property in Torreira beach. Consisting of a restaurant and a pension, which will give the trade name “O Moliceiro”. If you name is related to a region where the building is located, the same cannot be said for its architecture. Henceforth, a concern that presides over this dissertation, and which concerns with an idea of place, as a given region presents itself. Thus, we seek to reflect on a form of architectural intervention in this region that, like others, was uncharacterized by an excessive “progress”. The lot was chosen for the relief I have had since my youth and for the good memories it brings me. The idea is to keep the same function, but with different concepts, passing this lot to a hostel with bar, adding a nautical school, which justifies the lack of this type services in this area. A conceptual level consists of recreating cultural and historical elements of this place, combining them with progress and contemporaneity. If, on the one hand, it intends to frame elements that identify or construct with a cultural contextualization, on the other hand is does not attribute to these elements the essence of the architectural quality of the intervention as if we were to show a proportion of a receiver for the whole construction to become uniform, and if loss in the process of specificity of each building and uniqueness of each author. Thus, it is intended that the building can be inspired by the past, but at the same time meet current needs, thus modernizing and not being stuck to the past.
