Comparação da percepção visual de figuras possíveis e impossíveis em pacientes esquizofrénicos do subtipo paranóide e sujeitos normativos

| dc.description.abstract | A investigação sobre a esquizofrenia abordou as deficiências dos pacientes em processos perceptivos. Todavia nos primeiros tempos pensou-se que a patologia se devia a uma perturbação do pensamento que interpretava de forma errónea uma percepção normal. Nesta linha, a multiplicidade de trabalhos deixaram de lado o estudo do pensamento e centraram-se no estudo da normalidade e anormalidade da percepção em pacientes com esquizofrenia. É de salientar, porém que estes pacientes demonstram défices em todos os domínios do funcionamento cognitivo. No presente estudo investigou-se a capacidade dos pacientes com esquizofrenia para descriminar a possibilidade ou a impossibilidade em determinadas figuras: Para esse efeito, utilizaram-se como estímulos visuais 8 figuras geométricas possíveis e 8 figuras geométricas impossíveis, bem como 20 figuras possíveis e impossíveis que retrataram o realismo-mágico. Deste modo, as figuras foram dispostas através de suporte informático denominado por superlab, sendo que as 20 imagens possíveis e impossíveis correspondentes ao realismo mágico, eram expostas com limite de tempo entre os estímulos cerca de 30000 milésimos de segundo. A hipótese proposta foi que os sujeitos com esquizofrenia obteriam piores resultados que os sujeitos normativos na percepção da possibilidade ou impossibilidade das imagens apresentadas. Deste modo, compararam-se 16 pacientes com esquizofrenia e 16 sujeitos normativos no desempenho da tarefa de discriminação. A amostra em estudo é constituída por 32 sujeitos (8 mulheres e 24 homens), sendo que as mulheres apresentaram maior percentagem de acerto do que os homens. Por último, a média global de acerto nos grupos de estímulos Geométricos e de Realidade Mágica, Possíveis e Impossíveis não diferem segundo o tipo de amostra. | por |
| dc.description.abstract | Research on schizophrenia patients addressed the weaknesses in perceptual processes. However in the early days it was thought that the disease was due to a disturbance of thought misinterpreting a normal perception. It should be noted, however, that these patients show deficits in all areas of cognitive function. In the present study we investigated the ability of patients with schizophrenia to discriminate the possibility or impossibility of certain figures. To this end, we used visual stimuli as possible geometric al figures 8 and 8 impossible figures 8 and 8 impossible figures, as well as 20 possible and impossible figures that portray the magicalrealism. Thus, the figures were arranged using computerized superlab called for, and the 20 images corresponding to the possible and impossible magical realism, were exposed to a time limit between the stimuli around 30 000 milliseconds . The proposed hypothesis was that subjects with schizophrenia would obtain worse results that the subjects in normative perception of the possibility or impossibility of the images presented. Thus, we compared 16 patients with schizophrenia and 16 subjects in the performance of regulatory discrimination task. The sample consisted of 32 subjects (8 women and 24 men), and women had higher scores than men.
