Esta dissertação pretende dar a conhecer todo o potencial que tem um designer
num FabLab e no apoio a Startups. Reconhecendo a FabLab como um espaço de
criatividade e inovação, pretende-se apresentar o design como promotor de
ligação entre Startups e FabLab, de modo a que haja uma evolução positiva
nessas micro, pequenas e médias empresas. Sendo o FabLab um espaço aberto a
toda a comunidade, o cliente pode ser o designer e produtor. Este trabalho visa
defender a importância de ser um designer profissional e a relevância deste papel
num FabLab. A dissertação foi estruturada da seguinte maneira: realizou-se um
referencial teórico para posicionar e adquirir conhecimento sobre o tema, foi
realizado um estágio para vivenciar em primeira pessoa um ambiente de
prototipagem rápida e foram realizados inquéritos a três grupos diferentes para
obter maior veracidade de resultados
Para além disso, este estudo demonstra a importância que tem o FabLab na
resolução de problemas, na criação de empresas, no município e como indústria
do futuro, revelando o seu impacto positivo e negativo.
Os resultados obtidos demonstram que o papel do design é essencial dentro de
um FabLab sendo que estes laboratórios já têm alguns anos em Portugal, mas é
pouco divulgado na sociedade.
The purpose of this report is to reveal the potential that a designer has in a FabLab as well as in the support of Startup´s. Recognising a FabLab as a creative and innovative space, it is intended to present the design as a connection promotor between Startup´s and a FabLab in order to be a positive evolution in these micro , small and medium companies. Being FabLab an open space to all the community, the client can be both the designer and producer. This project is aimed to defend the importance of being a professional designer and the relevance of the roll a FabLab plays. Furthermore, this study shows the importance that FabLab has in resolving problems, the creation of companies, the county and as the future of the industry, revealing its impact both positive and negative. This investigation shows that the role of design is essential in the FabLab, since this laboratory have been present in Portugal for a few years, although it had not been disclosed in our society.
