Abstract(s)
O presente estudo tem como objetivo analisar a eficiência a níveis nacional e internacional do modelo organizacional dos clubes desportivos pertencentes à Federação Académica do Desporto Universitário (FADU), bem como a influência que a estrutura organizacional pode ter no seu desempenho. Foram envolvidos 92 clubes que pontuaram para o troféu universitário de clubes (TUC), em pelo menos uma época desportiva entre o período 2010/2011 e 2014/2015. A análise foi efetuada recorrendo à metodologia two-stage Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) de forma a analisar a eficiência dos clubes. Foram identificados 9 clubes eficientes na sua produção de atividade à escala nacional e apenas 1 é igualmente eficiente à escala internacional. Através de uma entrevista semiestruturada ao gestor do clube identificado como sendo duplamente eficiente, foi possível analisar de que forma a estratégia, relação com stakeholders e ainda as questões de financiamento, podem influenciar a eficiência da organização. Os resultados deste estudo apontam para a importância de se analisar a eficiência das organizações sem fins lucrativos, e identificar que tipo de modelo organizacional está na base desse desempenho. A tomada de decisão estratégica pode resultar de um maior conhecimento sobre a quantidade e tipo de input e output a empregar no processo produtivo de forma a tornar sustentável a atividade organizacional.
The present study aims to analyze the efficiency at the national and international levels efficiency of organizational model of the university clubs belonging to the University Sports Academic Federation as well as the influence that organizational structure can have on its performance. Have been involved 92 clubs which score for university clubs trophy in at least one sports season between the period 2010/2011 and 2014/2015. The analysis was made using the two-stage Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) to analyze the efficiency of the clubs. Have been identified 9 efficient clubs in their production activity at national level and only 1 is equally efficient at international level. Through a semi-structured interview to the club manager identified as doubly effecient, it was possible to examine how the strategy, relationship with stakeholders and also issues of financing may influence the organization’s efficiency. The results of this study evidence the importance of analyzing the efficiency of non-profit organizations, and identify what type of organizational model is on basis of this performance. The strategic decision-making may result from increased knowledge about the amount and type of input and output to use in the production process in order to make sustainable organizational activity.
