Esta dissertação aborda o tema da reabilitação do Património como um instrumento que contribui para a manutenção de uma memória colectiva que importa transpor para o futuro [2]. Neste contexto, explora a questão da reconversão do Convento de Santo António, conhecido também por Convento de Nossa Senhora do Seixo, que se encontra localizado na cidade do Fundão, dando origem a uma pousada para turistas e visitantes destas terras, possibilitando a reutilização de antigas estruturas edificadas.
O desenvolvimento deste trabalho procura perceber os processos históricos que levaram à implementação deste convento no local em estudo, assim como a evolução e tipo de
intervenção ao longo do tempo, desde meados do séc. XIV até aos nossos dias.
O objectivo passa por respeitar integralmente toda a herança histórica do Convento, incluindo a arquitectura deste edifício, situado entre a encosta verde da Serra da Gardunha e a deslumbrante paisagem sobre o vale do Zêzere e a Serra da Estrela. Criar um ambiente relaxante e silencioso onde se sinta a história e se respire a pureza do ar da serra, dando nova vida a esta região de grande produção agrícola, assim como de numerosos locais de interesse
turístico como Aldeia de Castelo Novo e Alpedrinha.
Seguidamente, foi realizada uma análise histórica do edifício, assim como da sua envolvente, uma descrição da abordagem da intervenção defendida pelo futuro arquitecto e uma breve descrição do edifício já usufruindo da sua nova função de pousada.
This paper addresses the issue of rehabilitation of heritage as a tool that contributes to the maintenance of a collective memory that matters transpose into the future [2]. In this context, explores the question of the conversion of Santo Antonio Convent, also known by the Convent of Nossa Senhora do Seixo, which is located in the city of Fundão, giving rise to a hostel for tourists and visitors to these lands, enabling the reuse of old built structures. The development of this paper seeks to understand the historical processes that led to the implementation of this convent at the site under study, as well as the evolution and type of intervention over time since the mid-fourteenth century to the present day. The objective is to fully comply with all the historical heritage of the Convent, including the architecture of this building, situated between the green slope of the Sierra da Gardunha and stunning scenery of the valley of the Zêzere and Serra da Estrela. Create a relaxing and quiet where you feel the story and breathe the pure air of the mountain, giving new life to this region of great agricultural production, as well as numerous tourist attractions such as Castelo Novo Village and Alpedrinha. Next, we performed a historical analysis of the building, as well as its surroundings, a description of the approach advocated by the intervention future architect and a brief description of the building already enjoying his new role hostel.
