Abstract(s)
Falses memories have been widely studied using an experimental procedure called DRM paradigm (Deese-Roediger-McDermott). The DRM paradigm characterized by the presentation of lists of associates of a word that is not itself presented (critical item), presentation leading participant in the production of false memories. False memories can be defined as memories that people have of facts or events that have never happened, illusions or distortions of facts which have occurred. The aim of this study was to determine whether the word capitulation influences the production of false memories. To this end, the study task list was in capital letters and the recognition phase, depending on the group, the list was presented in capital letters (control group) and lowercase (experimental group). The recognition list consisted of target items (study phase of words), critical items and distracters unrelated to the target items. The results showed the production of false memories, with no significant differences between groups.
