Abstract(s)
o meu sucesso no estágio.
Personal trainers (PT), Group trainers (GT) e Member Interaction (MI) do HPPSM.
Para isto, PT, GT e MI responderam ao questionário “Coach Motivation Questionnaire
in Fitness Professionals” (CMQ-FP).
Within the scope of the Internship Curricular Unit, inserted in the 2nd year of the 2nd Cycle of Sport Sciences, the internship was carried out at Holmes Place Palácio SottoMayor (HPPSM) in Lisbon. The main aim of the internship was to provide experience in professional practice in the field of exercise and health, as well as to understand the daily functioning of a large gym. In this sense, several tasks were developed, such as teaching group classes, prescribing training plans, and holding technical discussions on various topics. The internship tutor and the fitness manager constantly monitored all these activities, which were fundamental to my success in the internship. During the internship period, research was carried out to analyse the motivational factors for professional practice in Personal trainers (PT), Group trainers (GT), and Member Interaction (MI) of HPPSM. For this purpose, PT, GT, and MI answered the “Coach Motivation Questionnaire in Fitness Professionals” (CMQ-FP). Thirty participants were included in the study, with an average age of 29.5 ± 7.3 years and professional experience of 6.7 ± 6.8 years. The conclusion we draw from this study is that the primary motivation of HPPSM professionals comes from internal factors, intrinsic motivation, and identified regulation, also revealing a high percentage in the item that refers to extrinsic rewards, such as money.
