Abstract(s)
Com o objetivo de colonizar as províncias mais ao sul com europeus através do argumento
de defesa do território e necessidade de mão de obra, o governo imperial adotou um sistema
de colonização direcionado às terras devolutas, o qual pretendia, através de incentivos,
estabelecer imigrantes europeus, resultando na fundação das primeiras colônias
germânicas no sul do Brasil e, posteriormente, das colônias particulares, como, por
exemplo, a colônia Santa Maria da Soledade. Consequentemente, a fixação destes
imigrantes germânicos colaborou com o início da produção romanesca sul-rio-grandense
com a temática da imigração. Deste modo, dentre os estudos existentes que abarcam as
colônias fundadas no século XIX, verifica-se que a colônia Santa Maria da Soledade, embora
apresente estudos no campo da História e da literatura, ainda oferece diversas
possibilidades de pesquisa, como, por exemplo, estudos direcionados à última obra literária
que tem como pano de fundo a respectiva colônia, nomeadamente o romance histórico de
Eliseu Demari, A Colônia do Conde (2018). Assim, com o objetivo de suprir tal lacuna, este
trabalho apresenta algumas considerações sobre as relações entre História e literatura ao
longo do tempo e o desenvolvimento do romance histórico, bem como explora o surgimento
e o desenvolvimento da colônia Santa Maria da Soledade. Após, este estudo aborda algumas
considerações sobre a intertextualidade e realiza uma análise intertextual do romance
histórico A Colônia do Conde. Na sequência, os elementos da narrativa e alguns aspectos
estilísticos da respectiva obra são abordados e analisados. Deste modo, através da análise
intertextual, verificou-se que o romance histórico apresenta indícios de diversas marcas
intertextuais com obras literárias e jornais. No que diz respeito à análise de elementos da
narrativa, observou-se que a obra apresenta as três tipologias de narradores; focalização
variável e múltipla; elevado número de personagens; diálogos e monólogos; organização de
tempo seletiva e divergente do tempo histórico; espaços físico, social e psicológico;
descrições breves; ritmo ágil com algumas oscilações; e pequenos fragmentos de
documentos. Por fim, a análise de alguns aspectos estilísticos evidenciou a utilização de
palavras expressivas; a repetição de assuntos; o emprego de pormenores; a utilização do
efeito surpresa; a aplicação do efeito simbólico; o emprego de contrastes; a manipulação do
mostrar em vez de dizer; o uso de vocabulário epocal; e a aplicação de estrangeirismos e
latinismos.
Through the objective of colonising the southernmost provinces with Europeans via the argument of defence of the territory and the need for manpower, the Imperial Government adopted a colonization system directed to vacant lands, which intended, through incentives, to establish European immigrants, resulting in the foundation of the first Germanic colonies in southern Brazil and, later, of private colonies, such as the Santa Maria da Soledade colony. Consequently, the settlement of these Germanic immigrants contributed to the origin of novelistic production in the Rio Grande do Sul with the theme of immigration. Thus, among the existing studies that cover the colonies founded in the 19th century, it appears that the Santa Maria da Soledade colony, although it presents studies in the field of History and Literature, it still offers several possibilities for research, studies aimed at the last literary work that has the respective colony as a background, namely the historical novel by Eliseu Demari, A Colônia do Conde (2018). Thus, in order to fill this gap, this work presents some considerations about the relations between History and literature over time and the development of the historical novel, as well as explores the emergence and development of the Santa Maria da Soledade colony. Afterwards, this study addresses some considerations about intertextuality and performs an intertextual analysis of the historical novel A Colônia do Conde. Subsequently, the elements of the narrative and some stylistic aspects of the respective work are addressed and analysed. Therefore, through the intertextual analysis, it was found that the historical novel shows evidence of several intertextual marks with literary works and newspapers. Still, the analysis of narrative elements indicated that the historical novel presents the three typologies of narrators; variable and multiple focusing; a high number of characters; dialogues and monologues; selective and divergent time organisation of historical time; physical, social and psychological spaces; brief descriptions; agile rhythm with some oscillations; and small fragments of documents. Finally, the analysis of some stylistic aspects revealed the use of expressive words; the repetition of subjects; the use of details; the use of the surprise effect; the application of the symbolic effect; the use of contrasts; the manipulation of showing rather than telling; the use of epochal vocabulary; and the application of loanwords and Latinisms.
