Abstract(s)
This report aimed at completing the master´s degree in Optometry and Vision Sciences. To this end, three clinical cases were analyzed, namely, Suspeted Central Serous Coriorretinopathy, Insufficient Accommodation and Adaptation of Rigid Lenses Permeable to Gases. These cases represent, the contact during the curricular intership over 6 months at the Clinical and Experimental Center in Vision (CCECV) of the University of Beira Interior. The first clinical case is that of a 35-year-old patient who went to the CCECV for an optometry examination. She had complains of visual loss in both eyes as well as headaches. Observation of the posterior pole and the complementary optical coherence tomography exam lead to the suspicion of Central Serous Choriorretinopathy. The second clinical case refers to a 13-year-old patient who, after a school screening under the Ver Project, was referred to the CCECV for an optometry consultation. After examination, an Insufficiency of Accommodation was diagnosed. Despite not being the main approach to solve these types of cases, visual therapy was chosen. The third clinical case describes the adaptation of Rigid Gas Permeable Lenses to a 23- year-old patient. This attempt was made to resolve complaints of poor vision in the distance with the current form of usual compensation.
