Abstract(s)
A amostra é
The personal growth initiative is still a very recent variable, but it has shown interest in psychology, by association with several positive variables, such as satisfaction with life. Thus, the main purpose of this research was to analyze the relationship between the personal growth initiative and satisfaction with life in a university population. The present investigation is quantitative, descriptive, correlational and transversal, and the data were collected through an investigation protocol. The sample consists of 183 college students, 141 males (77%) and 42 females (23%), with a mean age of 21 years. To study the relationship between variables were used a version of the Personal Growth Initiative Scale (EICP-II) and the Satisfaction with LifeScale (SWLS). In this study it was possible to conclude that university students are slightly satisfied with their life and with a slight indicator of personal growth initiative, and the results obtained showed that there is in fact a positive correlation between these two variables. In our sample are the older students who present a greater initiative of personal growth and it is women students who present a greater satisfaction with the life.
