Abstract(s)
A Arte alimenta a Moda, a qual
A Arte Vestível é notória, visível e
This paper aims to present what is understood about Fashion and Art in order to reflect and analyze their similarities, as well as a possible connection between both areas and, finally, establish the existence of a Wearable Art in Fashion. As presented above, the general objective is to gather information from both the worlds of Art and the world of Fashion individually in order to later establish and present their connections, their moments of encounter. Art feeds Fashion, which is, in turn, fed by this field, becoming not only fashion (clothing), but a Wearable Art, an art without frames that moves between bodies and makes clothing gain symbolic, cultural and design values beyond simple dressing. To this end, three case studies will be presented in which one can find, observe and perceive these relationships that make Fashion and Art interdisciplinary and connected areas. The cases that will be presented and analyzed here are: Museu do Traje and MUDE, Gucci Continuum and, finally, Tiff Manuell. First of all, it is possible to find some authors who served as a basis for studying and discussing this topic, such as Olga Bon (2014), Graça Proença (2012), Lipovetsky (2009), Doris Treptow (2013), among other authors who study and present research in the universes of Fashion and Art. Finally, after the research, analysis, and study, it was possible to reach the conclusion that these two fields have a large amount of material to analyze and discuss. They are extensive fields, with great content and that are interconnected in many moments. They are a source of inspiration, tools, concepts and dissemination of ideas, processes and concepts for each other. Wearable Art is notorious, visible and tangible, but still open to new developments, more connections and more studies. Fashion and Art are profound fields that together provoke physical, visual and intellectual sensations in users and spectators. Their connections carry great power and openness for further exploration.
