O trabalho jornalístico por si só requer vivacidade de espírito. Quanto mais específico for o género, mais especialização e perícia são necessárias. Se no passado o desporto não tinha tanta preponderância na agenda mediática, nos dias que correm grande parte da população não resiste a passar um dia sem se atualizar sobre o seu clube.
Vários são os intervenientes e muitos são os problemas que sobressaem no universo do jornalismo desportivo. Partindo da análise de variadas perspetivas, perceberemos que existem neste setor pontos fortes e pontos fracos. A partir daqui, estaremos em condições de compreender como essas lacunas podem ameaçar o caráter e a integridade destes profissionais.
À luz dos fundamentos do código deontológico do jornalista, urge analisar o porquê de certas atitudes estarem a ser ignoradas e porque razões ainda não houve uma tomada de posição por parte da Entidade Reguladora da Comunicação.
As novas estações televisivas vinculadas a clubes desportivos vieram ainda acentuar estes problemas. Em certos momentos o jornalista abandona a imparcialidade e o que importa é ajudar a equipa da “casa” a vencer.

If formerly the sport was not on people's agenda, at these days most of the population doesn’t “survive" a day without being updated about theirs club. Several stakeholders are involved and there are many problems that stand in the world of sports journalism, essentially. Starting from the analysis of several points of view, we found in this genre positive aspects and weaknesses. It is therefore important to understand these gaps in order to realize how it can affect the ethos of these professionals. Considering the foundations of the journalist’s code, we will look forward to question why certain behaviors are being ignored and why regulators – ERC - doesn’t act about it. The new television stations linked to sports clubs brought some additional concerns. Fairness seems to be lacking from journalists and what matters is to help the "home" team to win.
