Abstract(s)
dominam o panorama desportivo.
This report follows the internship carried out at Antena 1, a broadcasting station of the RTP Group - Rádio e Televisão de Portugal, for three months (October 1 to December 31, 2020). All activities were developed in the sports department. In this sense, this report intends, in addition to reporting on the internship experience, to characterize the professionals working in this area, focusing particularly on those who do sports reports. In this context, in the first part of this report, a brief description of the paths traced by sports journalism ismade, from the times when this information was mainly distributed in information leaflets and periodicals, until today, when football is practically hegemonic, and television broadcasts dominate the sports landscape. In this path of development and affirmation of sports journalism, it is also important to highlight the importance that the radio had, as a privileged medium, for listening to sports reports for several years. If it is true that this medium had an announced death, as the famous 1979 song by the Buggles referred to, in the famous refrain “Video killed the radio star”, this report also seeks to understand what strategies the radio used to face threats introduced by new technologies, which forced the reinvention of practically all traditional media. The development of sports journalism and radio reporting on Rádio Pública Portuguesa is discussed below, through a literature review and considering the information collected during the internship, namely through interviews with professionals from Antena 1 and the information contained in a journal made during the internship. The data collected with these two techniques constitute the empirical dimension of this report and allow us to characterize the professionals who do sports reporting in Antena 1 and how the future of this activity could be in a context marked by the new opportunities created in the digital environment.
