| dc.description.abstract | A representação da violência tem sido um fenómeno que sofreu alterações ao longo das décadas, começando por ser encarada com um assunto privado e até algo banal, mas com o aumento da consciência por parte da sociedade da gravidade deste comportamento e dos direitos de cada indivíduo, passou a ser detetado, exposto e condenado. Contudo, apesar destas evoluções, este é um comportamento que é ainda muito prevalente, provavelmente pelas crenças que continuam a verificar-se na população, não sendo uma temática que se possa considerar resolvida. Deste modo, o presente trabalho centrou-se no estudo da relação entre as crenças acerca da violência conjugal e a predisposição para a agressão, com o objetivo de compreender a possível existência de diferenças nas crenças acerca da violência conjugal e na agressão em função do género, do curso e do estado civil. Para tal, foram utilizados o Questionário Sociodemográfico, a Escala de Crenças acerca da Violência Conjugal e o Questionário da Agressão. Através da análise estatística, concluiu-se que apenas houve diferenças estatisticamente significativas ao nível das crenças acerca da violência conjugal em função do género e do curso e ao nível da agressão em função do género. Por outro lado, observou-se uma associação das crenças de legitimação e banalização da pequena violência e das crenças de legitimação da violência pela conduta da mulher com a agressão física, raiva e hostilidade, existindo, ainda, uma associação entre as crenças da legitimação da violência pela preservação da privacidade familiar e a agressão física e a hostilidade. | por |
| dc.description.abstract | The representation of violence has been a phenomenon that has undergone some changes over the past decades, as it used to be seen as a private and even banal subject, but due to the increase in society's awareness of the seriousness of this behavior and the rights of each individual, it started to be detected, exposed and condemned. However, despite these evolutions, this behavior is still quite prevalent, probably because of the beliefs that still exist in our population and, thus, it can’t be considered a thematic that is considered solved. Therefore, the present work focused on the study of the relationship between beliefs about conjugal violence and the predisposition to aggression, and it aimed to understand the possible existence of differences in beliefs about conjugal violence and in aggression according to gender, course, and marital status. For that, the Sociodemographic Questionnaire, the Beliefs Scale about Conjugal Violence1 and the Aggression Questionnaire were used. Through the statistical analysis, it was concluded that there were only statistically significant differences in the beliefs about conjugal violence according to gender and course, and in the level of aggression in respect to gender. On the other hand, there was an association between beliefs of legitimation and banalization of the small violence and of the beliefs of legitimization and banalization of the violence by women's conduct with physical aggression, anger and hostility; it was also verified an association between the beliefs of the legitimation of violence for the preservation of family privacy and physical aggression and hostility. | eng |
