Abstract(s)
Habitante típico do Brasil,
A cultura cabocla é ilustrada
Norte do Brasil.
Focusing on the figure of the caboclo, this dissertation presents miscegenation as a condition of cultural richness. As a typical inhabitant of Brazil, the caboclo illustrates the cultural diversity of the country, being the result of the crossbreeding between Europeans and the indigenous population of the Brazilian Amazon rainforest and living to this day between these two worlds. The methodological basis of this conceptual and exploratory research will be the construction and clarification of caboclo culture from its individual, the caboclo, using an interdisciplinary approach that crosses fields such as anthropology, sociology and history. Caboclo culture will be illustrated through the work of artisans, composers and poets, focusing in particular on how it is represented through the toadas (musical songs) of the Bois-bumbás Garantido and Caprichoso, competing groups in the Parintins Folklore Festival, held in the northern region of Brazil.
