Abstract(s)
intenção empreendedora no setor desportivo.
This dissertation comprises two complementary studies aimed at understanding entrepreneurial intention in the sports sector. Study 1 presents a systematic literature review based on 34 scientific articles, identifying three main thematic groups: intrinsic, contextual, and sociodemographic factors. The findings highlight the relevance of selfefficacy, intrinsic motivation, entrepreneurship education, and sports experience as key determinants of entrepreneurial intention. Study 2 adopts a qualitative approach through semi-structured interviews with 15 university students engaged in sports. The results reveal that university sport serves as a formative space for the development of transferable skills such as resilience, leadership, and pressure management—attributes that enhance entrepreneurial intention. Simultaneously, several barriers are identified, including bureaucracy, overly theoretical teaching, and gender inequality, all of which negatively impact the perceived feasibility of starting a business. The research demonstrates that university sport is not only a matter of physical development but also a catalyst for entrepreneurial mindset formation. It underlines the importance of practical and experience-based learning strategies, as well as institutional support, to foster entrepreneurship among higher education students involved in sport. This dissertation contributes to the reflection on educational policies and support mechanisms for promoting sport-based entrepreneurship in academic contexts.
