| dc.description.abstract | O tema da minha dissertação consiste na análise das adaptações cinematográficas da obra literária “Branca de Neve”, dos Irmãos Jacob e Wilhelm Grimm, tendo em conta os vários graus da sua subversão narrativa. Neste âmbito, pretendo definir e aprofundar, primeiramente, os conceitos de adaptação e subversão, bem como examinar os tipos de transposições intersemióticas da literatura para o cinema. Para tanto e após essa pesquisa, vou criar uma tipologia própria para melhor analisar os casos que irei abordar. Como obras de referência, centro-me na narrativa literária “Branca de Neve”, dos irmãos Grimm, e no filme Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937) da Disney, tendo em conta a tipologia criada e os parâmetros que dela advêm. Seguidamente irei analisar cada filme tendo em conta os parâmetros utilizados nas obras de referência literária e fílmica, as especificidades inerentes ao meio cinematográfico (atendendo à forma como a literatura e o cinema tratam a mesma matéria), o tipo de adaptação feita e o modo como a narrativa é subvertida. Centrar-me-ei numa análise mais aprofundada de quatro filmes específicos — Blancanieves (2012), de Pablo Berger, Branca de Neve (2000), de João César Monteiro, Mirror Mirror (2012), de Tarsem Singh, e Snow White and the Huntsman (2012), de Rupert Sanders — de modo a confrontar adaptações produzidas no âmbito do cinema europeu e do cinema americano. No final, tecerei conclusões alusivas ao tipo de adaptações e ao grau de subversão, esperando que, de modo geral, identifique os motivos pelos quais os filmes baseados no conto “Branca de Neve” se distanciam da adaptação mais literal e se aproximam da subversão. | por |
| dc.description.abstract | The theme of my dissertation consists of the cinematic adaptation of the literary text “Snow White”, by brothers Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm, taking into account the several degrees of its narrative subversion. In this context, I intent to define and explore, firstly, the concepts of adaptation and subversion as well as to examine the types of intersemiotic transpositions from literature to cinema. In order to do so and after that research, I will create my own typology to better analyse the cases that I will approach. As reference texts, I will focus on the literary narrative “Snow White” by the Grimm Brothers, and on Disney’s movie “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” (1937), taking into account the created typology and the parameters that it entails. Subsequently, I will analyse each movie, taking into account the parameters used in literary and cinematic reference texto and movie, the specific aspects of the cinematic media (taking into account the way literature and cinema deal with the same subject), the type of adaptation, and the way the narrative is subverted. I will center myself in a deep analysis of specific movies — Blancanieves (2012), by Pablo Berger, Branca de Neve (2000), by João César Monteiro, Mirror Mirror (2012), by Tarsem Singh, and Snow White and the Huntsman (2012), by Rupert Sanders — in order to compare adaptations between European and the American cinema. In the end, I will draw conclusions about the type of adaptations, the degree of subvertion, expecting that, in a general way, there is a tendency for the movies based upon the story “Snow White” to be further away from the literal adaptation and closer to the subvertion. | eng |
