Abstract(s)
Interior.
O estágio teve a duração de nove meses e decorreu no Serviço de Patologia Clínica do
Centro Hospitalar Universitário de São João (CHUSJ) no Porto, no laboratório de
Biopatologia Molecular.
The aim of this report is to describe the activities carried out during the curricular internship as part of the Master's Degree in Biomedical Sciences at the University of Beira Interior. The internship lasted nine months and took place at the Clinical Pathology Service of the University Hospital Center of São João (UHCSJ) in Porto, in the Molecular Biopathology Laboratory. During the internship period, it was possible to integrate a laboratory work routine, apply various skills acquired during my academic career and gain a comprehensive overview of the importance of clinical diagnosis in a clinical analysis laboratory at a reference hospital, such as UHCSJ. This report also describes a small research project in which the differential diagnosis of two pathologies with macroscopically similar lesions was carried out, namely Monkeypox and Molluscum contagiosum, with completely different clinical approaches.
