Abstract(s)
economias mundiais dependentes destes fluxos.
Technological development and the process of globalization, as well as the strong commercial dependence between States, has led to a significant increase in trade and economic flows between States. This fact made the vast majority of world economies dependent on these flows. Thus, the pandemic crisis caused by the global spread of the Covid-19 virus, which started in late 2019 in Wuan, China, has disturbed this economic balance. Given the danger of millions of human lives, and the real possibility of the collapse of different health systems, most countries have opted for the adoption of restrictive measures for circulation and border closure, especially after March 2020. As a result of the phenomenon of globalization, one of the sectors that has benefited most from the growth of commercial and economic flows between States, has been international tourism. Several countries, such as Portugal, have been transforming and adapting their respective economies in order to focus their activity on the services sector and on the tourist offer. However, tourism is a highly unstable / volatile one, due to the dependence on multiple external factors, such as political, economic and social crises. The pandemic situation caused by the Covid-19 virus has exposed the weaknesses of a sector that was growing at a global level, sparking new challenges and forcing a readjustment of the tourist offer. In this context, this internship report, carried out under the “Erasmus +” Program, focuses on the experience developed at the tour operator Kraków Explorers, in Poland. The internship was carried out in the middle of a pandemic period, which allows us to obtain a concrete view of how the sector, in this specific case, has adapted to the new times.
