Abstract(s)
O empreendedorismo tem sido reconhecido como um motor fundamental para o
crescimento económico, a inovação e a geração de emprego, assumindo particular
relevância em países em desenvolvimento como Angola. No contexto das instituições de
ensino superior, compreender os fatores que moldam a intenção empreendedora dos
estudantes torna-se essencial para a formulação de políticas educativas e estratégias de
apoio ao desenvolvimento de competências empreendedoras. Este estudo tem como
propósito analisar os fatores que influenciam a intenção empreendedora dos estudantes
universitários em Angola, com foco nas instituições de ensino superior angolanas,
localizadas na Província de Benguela. O objetivo central foi analisar o impacto da
educação empreendedora, da autoeficácia empreendedora e dos antecedentes familiares
empreendedores na formação da intenção de empreender. A investigação adotou uma
abordagem quantitativa, com recurso a dados primários, recolhidos por questionário
online aplicado através do Google Forms, tendo obtido 216 respostas válidas. Os dados
foram analisados por meio de estatística descritiva, correlação de Pearson e regressão
linear múltipla, utilizando o software IBM SPSS Statistics (versão 30 para Windows),
garantindo reprodutibilidade e transparência científica. Os resultados revelaram que a
autoeficácia empreendedora constitui o fator mais determinante da intenção
empreendedora dos estudantes, confirmando que níveis mais elevados de confiança
pessoal se associam a uma maior predisposição para empreender. Em contrapartida,
nem a educação empreendedora e nem os antecedentes familiares empreendedores
apresentaram efeitos estatisticamente significativos. Entre as variáveis
sociodemográficas de controlo, apenas o género feminino se destacou, evidenciando uma
maior intenção empreendedora em comparação com os estudantes do sexo masculino.
O modelo global mostrou um ajustamento robusto. Este estudo contribui para a
compreensão do fenómeno do empreendedorismo no contexto angolano, ao mostrar a
importância da autoeficácia como fator-chave na decisão de empreender, bem como ao
sugerir que a educação empreendedora carece de maior aplicabilidade prática para gerar
impacto efetivo. As implicações práticas apontam para a necessidade de reforçar a
componente experiencial da educação empreendedora, fomentar programas de mentoria
e contacto com empreendedores reais, e adotar políticas públicas que valorizem o papel
da mulher e promovam o empreendedorismo juvenil. Do ponto de vista académico, a
investigação acrescenta evidência empírica a um campo ainda pouco explorado em
Angola.
Entrepreneurship has been recognized as a key driver of economic growth, innovation, and job creation, assuming relevance in developing countries such as Angola. In the context of higher education institutions, understanding the factors that shape students’ entrepreneurial intention is essential for designing educational policies and strategies to foster entrepreneurial skills. This study aims to analyze the factors influencing the entrepreneurial intention of university students in Angola, focusing on higher education institutions located in the Province of Benguela. The main objective was to examine the impact of entrepreneurial education, entrepreneurial self-efficacy, and family entrepreneurial background on the formation of entrepreneurial intention. The research adopted a quantitative approach, using primary data collected through an online questionnaire administered through Google Forms, obtaining 216 valid responses. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation, and multiple linear regression, with the support of IBM SPSS Statistics (version 30 for Windows), ensuring reproducibility and scientific transparency. The results revealed that entrepreneurial self-efficacy is the most decisive factor for students’ entrepreneurial intention, confirming that higher levels of personal confidence are associated with a stronger predisposition to undertake entrepreneurial activities. In contrast, neither entrepreneurial education nor family entrepreneurial background showed statistically significant effects. Among the sociodemographic control variables, only gender proved significant, with female students showing higher entrepreneurial intention compared to male students. The overall model presented a robust fit, explaining 53.6% of the variance in entrepreneurial intention (R² = 0.536; p < 0.001). This study contributes to the understanding of entrepreneurship in the Angolan context by showing the importance of self-efficacy as a key determinant in the decision to undertake, while also suggesting that entrepreneurial education requires greater practical applicability to generate effective impact. Practical implications point to the need to strengthen the experiential component of entrepreneurial education, promote mentoring programs and contact with real entrepreneurs, and adopt public policies that value women’s role and foster youth entrepreneurship. From an academic perspective, this research adds empirical evidence to a field still little explored in Angola.
