Abstract(s)
No centro geográfico da cidade da Guarda localiza-se um espaço devoluto há
mais de 30 anos que a cidade tem ignorado e menosprezado, trata-se do
antigo Matadouro da Guarda.
Tendo como ponto de partida este espaço marginalizado, com uma função
desatualizada de acordo com as necessidades da população, o objetivo do
presente trabalho será converter o matadouro no Centro Cultural da Guarda,
tendo em conta as reais necessidades e compreendendo que funções
escasseiam na cidade, serão criados espaços para exposição/eventos, zona de
restauração, residências para artistas, local de trabalho para artistas,
empregos para a população, conjugando um equipamento que permita acolher
tanto os artistas como a população local onde de forma simbiótica poderão
desempenhar as suas funções e estabelecer relações interpessoais. Será ainda
criado um espaço de reflexão que apela aos sentidos, uma obra com um
carácter experimental que pretende fazer o seu utilizador refletir com o que
se depara, com a obra e com ele próprio.
Tratando-se de uma reabilitação será pertinente compreender o que deve ser
removido do espaço por perturbar a memória e compreender quais os
elementos que mantêm intactos o seu legado original.
A alteração do programa do conjunto edificado de matadouro para Centro
Cultural pretende acima de tudo dinamizar o local e a cidade, facilitando e
melhorando os percursos pedonais, aglutinando zonas da cidade que
atualmente se encontram dispersas, criando desta forma uma nova
centralidade que introduzirá uma dinâmica distinta à cidade.
Revelando o valor do património existente e recuperá-lo para a cidade.
On the geographic center of the city of Guarda a vacant space is located in more than 30 years, in which the city has ignored and undervalued, this being the old slaughterhouse of the city of Guarda. Having this marginalized space as a starting point, with an outdated function according to the needs of the population, the goal is to convert the Slaughterhouse in to the Cultural Center of Guarda, taking into account the real needs of the population, taking into account the real needs and understanding what functions are scarce in the city, there will be created spaces for expositions / events, a zone for a dining area, artist residences, an artist workplace, jobs for population, combining equipment that allows to welcome both artists and the local population where, symbiotically, they can perform their functions and establish interpersonal relationships. Since this is a refurbishment, it will be pertinent to understand what must be removed from the space because it disturbs the memory and to understand which elements keep its original legacy intact. The alteration of the program of the built set of the slaughterhouse to the Cultural Center aims above all to energize the place and the city, facilitating and improving the pedestrian ways, bringing together areas of the city that are currently dispersed, thus creating a new centrality that will introduce a distinct dynamic to the city.
