Abstract(s)
Inserido
Television developed as an important mass medium and, to respond to a gap in information needs, specialized broadcasters in information emerged. Inserted in a tendency to promote productive speed, television journalism implies the cooperation of different professionals. The oracles are part of a set of graphic elements, currently present in portuguese television news to attract and captivate the public. Analyzing how the processes of production and revision of oracles develop in the news channels RTP3 and CNN Portugal is the central objective of this dissertation. To achieve this, a qualitative approach was adopted, through direct observation in the newsrooms of each station, interviews with professionals directly involved in these systems and, later, content analysis to extract the information obtained in the application of the previous techniques and documents made available during the investigation. The results allowed us to conclude that the production of oracles involves the work of professionals with training in journalism, in both channels. If the journalists who produce the news contents do not build the respective oracles, the task falls to coordinators, in the case of RTP3, and to line producers, a relatively recent function in the newsroom of TVI/CNN Portugal. The lack of time in production and the frantic pace at which information arrives at the newsrooms do not allow the preliminary review phase to be concluded. If it is ideal that journalists themselves review the oracles they write, on RTP3 it is up to the coordinator to review them and, on CNN Portugal, the line producer has this specific task, preferably following the order in which they will be broadcast. It was also verified that continuous production requires the writing of oracles that identify interlocutors, locate images in time and space and that present the themes of the pieces, lacking updates throughout the information day and subject to typos, often detected by professionals during transmission.
