A actividade da leitura é considerada desde há muito tempo o principal facilitador da
aquisição de conhecimento.
Fisicamente a leitura utiliza uma panóplia de movimentos oculares, se um deles se encontrar
afectado, podemos incorrer a problemas de leitura e consequentemente a problemas na
aprendizagem. Psicologicamente a leitura utiliza dois processos, a descodificação e a
compreensão.
Muitos autores identificam a velocidade da leitura como uma das características responsáveis
pelo sucesso escolar. Tendo estes pormenores em mente, pretendemos conduzir um estudo
piloto onde temos como objectivo, descobrir se existe uma relação entre as variáveis que
definem a performance no teste ADEM-d com um parâmetro que quantifique o rendimento
escolar.
O estudo foi realizado em educandos das escolas da Covilhã que frequentam o 9º ano de
escolaridade, e os resultados não mostraram correlação entre a performance do teste e a
classificação das provas globais.
The ADEM test is a visuo-verbal test that allows determining problems in saccadic eye movements or automaticity in Adults. Considering that problems in the reading skills of a individual can manifest due to physiological or psychological problems, as a defective type of eye movement or a malfunction on one of the psychological process in reading, we plan to run a project study that will try to correlate the variables present in the ADEM-d test with a parameter that discriminates School Performance. The sample used for this study is arranged from 9th grade students from the Schools of Covilhã, the results shown no correlation between the performance in the ADEM-d test and the grades from the 9th year final exams.
